All Natural Soy or Beeswax candles are a wonderful alternative to Paraffin Wax Candles (a petroleum based by-product of refined gasoline). Studies have shown that carcinogens released by paraffin wax candles are as dangerous as second hand cigarette smoke and can cause harm to the heart, lungs, circulatory system, and nervous system. This is not only a health concern, but also an environmental concern. Paraffin wax candles release carcinogens into the atmosphere when burned similar to that of gasoline being burned by an automobile.
Wicks are made from 100% cotton and contain no lead or metal.
Soy Candles
~ Our eco-friendly candles are made with 100% pure soy wax, and scented with only natural essential oils - no yucky chemical fragrance oils or chemical dyes!! Why would you want to add chemicals to these beautiful, healthy, natural candles?
Soy wax is an eco-friendly, renewable alternative to paraffin wax. Oil is extracted from the soybeans and hydrogenated. This process alters the melting point of the soy oil, making it a solid at room temperature. Our soy wax is made from soybeans grown by farmers in the United States. Soybeans are a completely renewable resource (in contrast to paraffin).
Our soy candles are Vegan Certified, All Natural, Certified Climate Cool, and five trees are planted in the Central American Rainforest with every purchase.
Our soy candles have been featured in the 2007 EMMY Gift Bags, on ABC's Extreme Makeover Home Edition, a gift box given to Oprah at a private event at her Montecito estate, and in a Celebrity Gift Basket given to the presenters of the Women's Conference, put on by CA's first lady Maria Shriver.
Beeswax Candles
~ Beeswax candles have been the choice of candle connoisseurs through the ages. They are a gift from nature that embodies a simple and healthy state of being. Currently, there are no regulations in the US on disclosing ingredients on candle labels. You may find candles labeled Beeswax that are made with paraffin, or other candle waxes, and only have 1% of beeswax in them. We are very proud to say that we use 100% beeswax in all of our candles with the exception of a very few; those have a blend of 50% soy wax and 50% beeswax and are noted as such. The soy wax is added to help with the quality of burn.
Beeswax is naturally aromatic, infused with the sweet, subtle scent of honey. Beeswax, the purest of all candle waxes, is a product of the sustainable industry of beekeeping. The simple filtration of beeswax is a natural process that uses no chemicals and very little energy. Being nontoxic and nonallergenic, beeswax candles burn clean and soot free. While burning they release negative ions, just as seashores or rainstorms do. These negative ions improve air quality by eliminating pollutants and allergens from the air that we breathe. The high melting and burning temperature of beeswax translates into exceptionally long burn times.
